Keep lasagna sheets frozen until the night before using, then defrost in the fridge. Boiling is not necessary. If needed, run the pasta under hot tap water to soften. If needed out of the freezer, boil for 1 minute.
Recommended baking time for lasagna is 40-45 minutes at 375° F. After removing from the oven, allow the pan to sit about 10 minutes before serving.
For a delicious and simple filling combine 1 lb of ricotta with 1 whole egg, ¼ cup of grated cheese, and salt and pepper to taste. For added flavor, mix in some parsley and mozzarella. Also, consider adding precooked sausage and/or meatballs.
